Post in this thread to get help with your purchases! Please include pictures of the front and the back of the item, as well as where the item was purchased from.
Some things to keep in mind:

• Cards with a general value of $10 or under are unlikely to be fake.
• Cards from albums that are still in print are unlikely to be fake. Difference in card thickness/tab location/finish doesn't always mean a card is fake, because different manufacturers can be used every reprint.
• Some groups use the same picture in different ways for multiple pre-order benefits, so it being cropped doesn't necessarily mean it's fake. Dreamcatcher used to do this and I believe all SM groups do this for their Season's Greetings pre-order benefits.
• First round preorder benefits from KTOWN4U and MAKESTAR for popular groups are less likely to be fake, especially if the general value is under $10.
• Albums with promo stickers are less likely to be fake, though do keep in mind that some idols have their managers sign the albums for them (this is common for SM groups if I recall correctly).
• Artists signatures generally evolve throughout the years, just because it doesn't look the same as a near debut signature doesn't mean it's fake.

Scams to look out for:
Mercari Japan has had a big upswing of fake rare cards. Thankfully, they don't put much effort into making their listings look 'legit' so it's pretty obvious if you don't just impulse buy. Here is an example. Only 7 sales (at time of writing), rare cards from every big group, and the card quality looks terrible.
Signed cards weren't always common. Some groups like Twice did not sign cards at all really before recent site specific pre-order benefits and lucky draws. Here is an example of a fake signed card. If you click through to their profile you can see they somehow managed to find 100s of these signed cards "from other websites" and once again, they are all from the most popular groups.
These random signed stage photos with a "Hollywood Style Inc Certificate of Authenticity". I can't confirm that all signed stage photos are fake, but legit ones are rare enough that I would be extra wary when buying.
If the album is signed by more than one member, check if the pen pressure looks the same on each signature.
Resources to help you verify:
Youtube - You can look up unboxing videos of other's fansign albums to see preorder benefits and member signatures.
Instagram - Same thing as above. A lot of people post pictures/clips of their preorder benefits and fansign albums. Collection photos often show off these as well. There are also some accounts that have guides on member signatures.
Twitter - There are accounts that scan photocards which could help you verify proper level of zoom if you worry a card is cropped etc.
Ebay - Search for past sales for comparison of prices and product photos.

[Parts] Wahl-Eversharp ringtop in Lazulitic celluloid w/14k Fine Signature, flexible nib $115+shipping
I’ve labeled this gorgeous pen as [parts], but it is a fully functional pen. There is a crack in the barrel at the threads(pictured in the gallery) that has been stable during my ownership over the course of several years. The cap threads with no issue whatsoever. What’s special about this pen, aside from the beautiful Lazulitic celluloid, is its nib. The pen truly is a wonderful writer! I purchased the pen with an eye to harvest its nib once the crack became unmanageable, however that never came to pass as the crack today looks just as it did the day I received the pen. It would be a shame to simply yank the nib and lose another precious artifact of a bygone era. This pen is sure to please, both the eye and the hand!
[A2] Sheaffer Balance II in Cobalt Glow w/Broad 18k semi-flex Factory Italic nib $335+shipping
I guess technically this isn’t a vintage pen, but it is an homage to the legendary Sheaffer Balance’ of yore so its inclusion in the vintage section just seems right lol ;-) This is an incredibly beautiful, like new pen in the wondrously chatoyant Cobalt Glow acrylic! The pen is essentially brand new having only been inked a time or 2. What makes this pen really special however, is its nib. The 18k factory Italic is a veritable cornucopia of line variation and is wet, and delicious! If that wasn’t enough, the nib also has a bit of softness to it which adds even more character to your writing! Line variation abound with laser side strokes and broad down strokes. I’ve seen a couple(and actually sold 1) stub nibs available on these pens, but it seems Italic variants such as this one are rather uncommon. I’ve held onto this pen for a long time and need to let it go where it’ll be loved and appreciated on a regular basis. If you like line variation, this one’s for you!!

This pen was my first foray into Maki-e. Let me tell you, this pen impressed me! So much so that it was a tough decision to let it go. This is a gorgeous Furore in the now discontinued and hard to find Galaxy Blue acrylic, which is breathtakingly beautiful(video in the gallery). This acrylic is a sight to behold….deep and chatoyant, very reminiscent of its “Galaxy” namesake! The pen has rhodium plated silver trim and is in excellent, like new condition with not a single mark/micro-scratch to be found! The 14k Fine nib is smooth and consistent, beautifully wet, and writes very well! It was a tough decision to include this pen in the sale because I really like this model as a whole, however I ultimately decided to keep my Furore Grande.
[A2] Graf von Faber Castell Guilloche in Burned Orange w/18k Fine nib $260+shipping
I absolutely adore GVFC/FC nibs. They are seriously awesome writers! If you’ve never tried a gold nib from GVFC, man are you missing out! They’re perfectly wet, quite soft, and have a great feel against the paper. If you like FC’s stainless nibs found on Looms and HEXO’s, you’ll fall in love with their gold nib variants! I love this pen, but I’ve only inked it up once as I slowly move more and more toward hardcore vintage pen usage. It needs to go to a home where it’ll be used consistently because it really is that good. A great, great everyday writer….
[B] Levenger Aero D w/Med. SS nib $50+shipping
This was a Levenger pen made with real lacquer coated Carbon Fiber! It’s very high quality and doesn’t look obviously fake like a lot of the other “Carbon Fiber” pens that simply have stickers affixed to look like CF. Its shiny carbon fiber is quite beautiful, but I think I’ve inked it only a handful of times during my ownership. The medium nib is fantastic! Quite honestly, I was surprised at how nicely it writes. Nice and wet and very smooth….writes under its own weight, etc. The only “issue” with this pen is a few chips to the nib coating from capping/uncapping, which seems to happen with these dark nib coatings. Aside from that however, this pen is in excellent condition and ready to write! This is the type pen that you write with and think, “wow, how is this possible?!”. I can’t say enough about this pens nib….
[B+] Ensso Piuma Full Titanium cartridge converter pen w/Titanium nib(EF or F, buyers choice)$145+shipping
Ensso makes beautiful, extremely high quality pens. I love these Piuma models for daily writing, but especially for daily carry! I have 4 Titanium models of this pen and decided to sell a couple of them. It has a couple minor micro scratches but aside from that, it’s in great condition. It’s full Titanium so you could throw it off a cliff and it would survive! It’ll accept any #6 Bock nib unit you’d like to use via screw in nib units. Ti Piumas are the perfect weight, have great ergo’s, and are supremely comfortable to write with! I don’t normally prefer metal sections, however the section on this pen is extremely comfortable and isn’t slippery in the slightest. Their indestructible nature make them perfect for daily carry. If you like metal pens but don’t like for them to weigh a lot, this is the pen for you!

Next is a great pen if you like line variation. I’m primarily a Stub/Italic/Music nib user. The SS Sailor Music nib on this pen is fantastic! It has a great feel when put to paper and is wet and smooth! The pen is in great condition and has no scratches cracks or wear visible. I love Sailor Music nibs and am only selling this pen because I have the same model with a gold nib. If you’re looking to expand your nib offerings and jazz up your handwriting, this is a great pen to do it with! Edit: It was kinda difficult to find one of these at retailer sites. Wondering if maybe this pen has been discontinued..? I certainly hope not as they’re great pens….

SIG nibs are among my favorite modern stub nibs to use. They write fantastically and are the perfect blend of line variation and smoothness! The variability in downstroke width, dependent on angle to the page ala’ Naginata-Togi type nibs, is a really cool plus. This particular nib is a true gem, wet and smooth with great line variation and is sure to become a favorite for your daily use! A great match for the pen above, but will go in any pen that accepts screw-in #6 Jowo nibs.

Ben @Gravitas perfected the vac filler when he designed this pen. I have 2 of them and the other won’t be going anywhere. Made out of Ultem, this is an awesome pen! I’ve really come to love Ultem and have several other pens made from this material. IMO, Ben solved some of the issues that made Vacs not user friendly and no fun to use. Not the least of which is making the pen easy to disassemble…this makes cleaning a breeze. Simply remove the section and use a blunt syringe to clean the barrel, then use a bulb syringe for the section and nib and boom, the pen is spotless! No more operating the vac plunger 5274826384 times! Grab this pen, which is in great condition, for a discount and avoid Gravitas long shipping times to boot!

Prada L'Homme (EDT)

• Many consider it the perfect office fragrance (and I agree) but I find it much more versatile than that. it is such a comforting, warm fragrance with strong iris and violet notes on the opening. It does smell a little like boiled carrots, but in a good way! It transitions to a powdery and soapy neroli on the dry-down. This one always makes me feel sophisticated. I wear it on days where I feel more reserved and don't expect anyone to pick up on my scent, but it keeps me relaxed every time I sniff myself. It is so versatile; it can be worn in any season, in any weather, in any occassion. There is no situation where Prada L'Homme wouldn't be able to shine. Lasts 8hr on my skin.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum (EDP)

• The fragrance that got me into fragrances. Finally, I can smell the lavender on the Le Male line with this one! The vanilla in this one takes center stage. It is tart and pastry-like. Even though I didn't wear it for this occasion, this fragrance brings me fond memories of my first time in Siesta Key FL, where my family and I visited a small ice cream shop at night and I had the best ice cream of my life. The vanilla ice cream with cinnamon sticks I had in there smells just like this juice. Perfect for fancy date nights, but go easy on the sprays or else you'll get a headache! You'll be smelling like a walking dessert. Lasts about 10-12hr on my skin.

Azzaro Wanted by Night (EDP)

• Sadly discontinued here in the US, but you can probably still find it on some outlet malls. Smells very similar to Le Male Le Parfum, but this one feels a lot spicier due to a much more noticeable cinnamon note. It's barely noticeable, but I also get a shy note of tobacco and leather here. I do find it more complex than LMLP, but I use both interchangeably whenever I feel like I'm overwearing one of them. Either or rolls with me. Lasts about 9hr on my skin.

Azzaro Chrome (EDT)

• The very first fragrance I purchased with my own money. A super citrusy, white florals opening with a very distinct but easy to pick metallic note. It is a cheapie, but it's one I don't hear often about and it does a great job for how cheap it is, even if it's very synthetic. I use it for very short errands or right after a shower to smell clean. The EDP version is super nice. Lasts about 6hr on my skin.

Polo 67 (EDT)

• The newest fragrance from Polo is a simple yet versatile everyday dumb reach. It opens with a really nice citrus combo of bergamot and lemon, and really nice, candy-like pineapple. It's almost as if it was fresh pineapple slices with extra sugar on them instead of the sour taste that you can often get from them. The fragrance then transitions to a creamy, slightly woody herbal vetiver smell but the pineapple remains prominent. I love wearing this for casual going out, or for school and work. The pineapple is so sweet and comforting, it's genuinely become one of my favorites. Luckily, it is also pretty affordable for a designer fragrance, and the refill bottle is even cheaper. Lasts a good 6-7hr on my skin.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male (EDT)

• Surprisingly long lasting for an EDT! All I really get with this fragrance is an herbal vanilla, as if the flower were to be standing next to tall blades of fresh grass that's been rinsed with water from the nearest well. I unfortunately don't really notice the lavender much, but I enjoy wearing this one for work. The green vanilla creates such contrasting notes, but it somehow works together and leads to a powdery drydown. I got it at a ridiculous price too, but I don't think I love it enough to get another bottle. Lasts about 8hr on my skin.

Replica By The Fireplace (EDT)

• Gifted to me and I can't wait to start wearing it for the winter. Haven't dabbed it on my skin yet but on paper, it smells extremely woody and smoky, doused with gasoline and thrown on the grill. You thought I was gonna say a fireplace huh? Nope. I love the smell of a grill that's warming up, and I get a booze-like scent with this one, as if we had a Jack Daniel's bottle right next to the cookout.

Dyptique Do Son (EDT)

• The most realistic white florals I've ever smelled on a fragrance, and the first time I ever sniffed tuberose. Fresh white blossoms, it is almost sweet with a pinch of honey to my nose, yet it is deep and complex. It is very green in its floral composition, almost as if you can smell the soil that the flower grew from. A touch of pepper and orange blossom really balances the fragrance out. Leans more feminine but even as a man, this fragrance makes me feel so confident. Makes me feel like I'm the shit when I wear it. It's so good that even my mother wants to steal my bottle! This one was my introduction to Dyptique and I'm certainly coming back. Lasts just about 6hr on me. Not my greatest performer, but it lasts for almost all the outings I choose it for.

Montale Aoud Lagoon (EDP)

• I get straight up oud the first hour or so, the name sticks true to the fragrance. It is dark and rich, very much my most "manly" fragrance in my collection. About 30min after the opening, while the oud is dominating, an incense smoke-like scent pops in, it makes the fragrance appear like one you wear at a jazz club in winter. After the first hour, the floral fruity notes start appearing. This fragrance was my introduction to 2 notes I had to look up and analyze with my nose: Osmanthus and Lotus, Osmanthus is creamy to me, almost smells a little like a ripe apricot, but still distinctly a white flower. On the other hand, after many, many profound sniffs, Lotus smells veeery slightly aquatic and therapeutic--it gives me the same emotions as neroli, but less on the soapy side.

Montale Starry Nights (EDP)

• A nuclear bomb from Pierre Montale. A super strong (but honestly very synthetic) opening of fruits. I get green apple the most on the opening, with a strong hint of rose and patchouli. It opens very masculine but Starry Nights goes through an interesting transition to musky, powdery notes on the drydown that are very feminine. You get the best of both sides with this one, and the less sprays, the better. My biggest compliment getter by far, and it's the one I chose to wear to my first nightclub right when I turned 21. A nighttime fragrance through and through, and I have a feeling that I'll create a lot of fond memories with this one. Lasts anywhere from 12-14hr on my skin.

Mancera Jardin Exclusif (EDP)

• This is another goddamn nuclear bomb. PLEASE do not ever overspray this. I made the mistake of putting on 4 sprays when I first wore it to a birthday party and I got a headache about an hour in. A ridiculously powerful fruit punch, I notice a caramel pear and peach the most on the opening. It is certainly similar to Xerjoff Erba Pura (even in terms of its performance) but this one has a more prominent balance of florals. Jasmine and rose are definitely present, it leads to this super sweet powdery drydown that resembles old perfumes of yore. Leans a lot more feminine, but when applied with the right amount, you basically smell like a delicious fruit basket surrounded by freshly picked flowers at a wedding table. Lasts anywhere from 14-17hr on my skin.

Thameen Green Pearl (Extrait)

• My most recent purchase, and it was love at first sniff. It is an herbal aromatic fragrance with a really nice citrus opening of bergamot and mandarin. A super green, fresh fragrance with tea leaves, it is almost a little watery but not in the stinky musk that I often get with true aquatic fragrances. What really makes this one shine is the green apple. It is so fresh and really balances the citrusy, sweet aspect of this fragrance. Very versatile and easy to pick up, yet it is masterfully blended. Nothing feels harsh or off-putting to my nose when I smell this. It is quality through and through, as mass-appealing as a designer fragrance but with a much higher quality standard. For some reason, it reminds me of one of my favorite songs: High Dive by Dreamgirl. Lasts about 9-10hr on my skin, but sits very close in the last 2 hours or so.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic

• I always knew my city had an official Guerlain boutique separate from other stores, but I never knew it was the only one in the US! Mandarine Basilic was my introduction to this iconic brand, and remains one of my favorites. The freshest citrus I've ever smelled in any juice. The mandarin in here is picked fresh, at its most ripe and juicy stage from the tree, and it is then bathed in holy water by the Pope himself. It is so divine, so damn realistic. It's like that smell you get on your hands after peeling them for hours, yet you can't stop sniffing it like a curious pitbull for some reason. The mandarin is, of course, followed by a soft, earthy eucalyptus-like basil that's been crushed and grinded with a bit of honey. It is a calming and fantastic blend. The drydown gets to a super soft vanilla and sandalwood. I'm purchasing this fragrance 'til the day I die man. Lasts about 7hr on my skin.

ELdO Hermann A Mes Cotes (EDP)

• Picture an old, decaying pink rose surrounded by wet moss next to a busy highway after a heavy downpour. That's what Hermann smells like. It does not smell like the petals of the rose, but rather its green stem. A woody, spiny rose with earthy tones of moss and slightly metallic notes to my nose. I love wearing this every time it rains. I consider it my signature fragrance and for good reason. Much like Prada L'Homme, this is my comfort medicine for when I feel reserved or upset. Every time I sniff it, its scent tells me that everything will be okay and tomorrow will be another day.

• Polo Red and Blue: These are cool cheapies, especially Red, it smells like a simpler Wanted by Night, I can see myself purchasing a small bottle of it. Blue I'm not a fan of though, I hate overly aquatic/ozonic fragrances.
• Azzaro Chrome Parfum: Smells like a pine tree after a downpour with conifers and it somehow grows lemons as well. Actually smells really good, highly recommend.
• Guerlain AA Forte Oud Yuzu, Rossa Rossa, Bosca Vanilla, and AA Herba Fresca: Want to go to nose heaven? Just smell these real quick.
• Dyptique Orpheon and Eau De Sens: Orpheon somehow smells like cotton you dabbed on something really good. Can't properly explain it. Eau De Sens smells like the pretty and fruitful backyard of your grandma's house. Both are very photorealistic with whatever smell they're trying to replicate.

 It's Friday, April 19th in New York City. Donald Trump is on trial for one of the many crimes he is accused of. Around 1:39 that afternoon, a man walks up to police barricades and the crowd of onlookers and media. He throws pamphlets on the ground before taking out a bottle of liquid and pouring it over his head and body. At 1:39 PM, the man lit himself on fire collapsing onto a police barricade. Police and bystanders attempted to extinguish the flames but their efforts failed to save the life of Max Azzarello. 

What would posses a man to do something like this? Well if you read all the news reports, it's because he was a crazy conspiracy theorist that lost his mind. That's where most of us left it. As with any story, there is usually more to it that we don't know. I don't like not knowing and this was a drastic and insane act that I had to better understand. Who is Max Azzarello and what was on the pamphlets he threw down before his horrible act? I started by looking into who Max was. He was some what of an activist, a researcher and investigator (in his own right) and a genuinely good person according to friends and family. Those close to him were devastated by the news and the actions that Max took on this April afternoon. The media has highlighted any flaw or error Max had during his life as they usually do when they want you to feel a certain way about someone. Outside of the act of setting himself on fire very publicly, why do they want you to dismiss him as a nut job? I had to find out what this was all about, what drove a seemingly normal man to do something this drastic. This final. With the help of a friend, I was able to find Max's final words online. I'll include a copy of Max's unabridged words below as I feel it is important that we all read it. After reading it, I understood what Max was trying to do. He wasn't a crazy man, he was a martyr. Max chose this fate not at random, but after much thought and analysis. He chose to travel from Florida to New York to enact his plan outside the trump trial because he knew that every media outlet in the “free” world would be outside covering the trial. They would not be able to ignore him now. He planned his actions with the mindset of getting the most coverage of it possible. The media mentioned it, then it went away like everything does in our society. Max was dead and nothing else has happened. I refuse to let Max be forgotten. Max had struggled deeply trying to get people to pay attention to his message. I can relate to that struggle as I've tried to spread his words since his death with virtually no response from anyone. The short of Max's claim is that our government here in America and others around the world working with them are planning something big. They plan a complete flip from democracy to fascism. That's crazy talk right? Well ask yourself this, is their any evidence of something like this happening? Would it even be possible? Let's look into that. In order for a government to overthrow the will and rights of its people requires many things and most of them have already been done. I'm not an expert on government and politics but I am a student of history and I have enough common sense to draw lines between things. I also have pretty good self-awareness that allows me to be critical of my conclusions and not grasp at straws. Let's go over some simple facts that we should all be aware of. Please remember, these are not conspiracies, these are hard proven facts. 1. Our government is corrupt. We all see the corruption and deceit no matter our political leanings or beliefs. We know they are robbing us blind and cheating and lying. They openly commit crimes and violate our civil rights. Let's look into the crimes we know of first before digging into our crumbling rights. 2. Crimes have included but are not limited to: Bribery, fraud, insider trading, sexual assault, theft, war crimes, extortion, and election fraud. I won't go into all the specifics on these, but I think the majority of people can agree that we have witnessed these crimes happen over and over and they go unpunished or get off with a slap on the wrist. We can argue who is guilty and who isn't of what crimes, but that is an argument distraction. They love that we argue and disagree so much. 3. Rights Violations. We are all generally aware of rights violations by police officers and law enforcement in general. We are less aware of the stripping of our rights by the government. This has been happening for a long time in America, but we only need to go back to the attacks on 9/11. After those attacks, a bill was passed illegally called the Patriot Act. We were sold a fake story with a fake premise of safety. They like to scare you so you want their protection. After we were lied to about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction resulting in another war, we were told the Patriot Act was a simple bill to protect us from terrorist. The truth was, that it was the first step in revoking our 4th amendment. With the revelations of Edward Snowden, we were informed of just how far our government went. Illegal spying, data collection, and rights violations under the name of national security. They don't need a warrant anymore and you have no defense from prosecution. They collect all of your data, all the time on all devices. Your entire life and everything you say or do is recorded by our handy cell phones and home assistants as well as a massive surveillance network. It's stored on NSA servers for anyone who gets out of line or stands up for their rights. Your fourth amendment died when those towers came down and a lot of you celebrated it. Censorship is putting the last nail in the coffin of our first amendment. We lost part of it long ago when the CIA enacted operation Mockingbird and infiltrated all of our media. We no longer have a free media. No matter what your favorite news channel, it and all of it's employees are government assets regardless of their personal knowledge of it. You only see what they want you to see. This is the main reason they have to kill tiktok. They always kill what they can't control.
I could go on with this for days, but hopefully you get the point that they are infringing or out right ended our rights. Maybe you are one of those people who is stars and bars American and believe in our system and country. You are probably insulting me as a conspiracy theorist or whatever the opposite of your political agenda is. Racist, communist, liberal, leftist, right wing, republican, democrat, whatever. I ask you only do one thing. Ask yourself if this is the country that we wanted for our selves and our children. Is this the nation and society our parents or grandparents wanted for us? Look around you. Don't add blame or feelings to things, just look at what they are. We are being destroyed by drugs and addiction. We have homeless encampments flooding our major cities. Crime is insane. Racial tension is higher than it's been since the civil rights movement despite the majority of American's being more accepting and less racist than our ancestors. We are being dumb-ed down with poor education and lies. Our economy is not good and we suffer from the pains of inflation. We have people starving to death in the worlds richest country. The cost of living is soaring past our income levels. 1% of our population owns more than the other 99%. You have virtually no workers rights in most states and are controlled by the corporations that own us all. Our food is poisoned and killing us. Just look at the report from an independent group on the amount of lead in Lunchables. Why didn't the FDA find that? It's what we pay them for after all. We are constantly inundated with propaganda designed to cause discourse, distraction and ignorance. The single most important document in American history has been labeled as bad and racist. Why would anyone want to make people turn against our constitution? They know most of you have never read the constitution let alone understand your rights. It's easy to manipulate those who are unaware of the facts. The constitution is not racist or evil. The men who wrote it might have been, that's an argument for another time. The document itself is amazing and critical. Stop reading it with negative thoughts about its writers and read it for what it says. We have the freedom of speech, freedom of press, and freedom of religion. It's the first right in the Bill of Rights for a reason. Our freedom of speech is required for us to speak out about injustices and have our concerns and complaints heard. It's singly the most important thing we have and yet many of your actively work to curtail that right for others. Be assured, it won't stop with the ones you don't want to hear. We need that freedom of speech to avoid having to enact other rights, but we will get back to that later. Freedom of religion doesn't feel that important to me because I'm not very religious. For those of us who are religious this is a major one. For those of us who are non religious, this right is for us as well. While it protects their right to practice their religion, it protects us from having to practice it with them. We all know that has been violated in both ways. Freedom of the press is very under appreciated. Having an open and honest news media allows the average American to know what is happening in our society and world. It use to be a very important tool for us to suss out corruption and crimes. It's now a weapon used against us and against political rivals. It shuts down open debate and promotes division and hate. It has been the single worst change for America. Many of you call for the removal of the second amendment and most with good reasoning and cause. Gun violence is ridiculous in the United States, but we have to understand the problem and not try to put a bandage on it. The criminals will still have guns even if you outlaw them. They might have less and be harder to get, but they will still commit crimes and own guns. We have to look at the reasons that so much gun crime happens. Is it culture, greed, hate, mental illness, or poverty? It's probably all of those and more but those pale in comparison to what could happen to an America without guns. We all want to live in a safe world where guns are effectively useless outside of hunting or sport, but that is a fantasy land currently. What the pro second amendment people fail to explain properly and often fail to understand themselves is that gun rights are required. You don't get to remove someone else's right. Sure we feel we need guns for protection in some cases, but the idea behind the second amendment is protection from the government. This is the point where someone comments about how stupid we are to think our little guns can defeat the American government or its forces. You are correct, that would be stupid to think that we can grab an AR-15 and defeat a group of FBI agents or military. After all, what can my little AR do to a tank or drone right? That's not the meaning behind the second amendment. The authors of the constitution were very aware of a governments ability to separate itself from its people and control them. We aren't supposed to start a fight or try some kind of war, they are a deterrent. It's our responsibility to hold our government accountable and when our branches are no longer separate and they are all corrupt, then we must act to arrest and prosecute the criminals on our own. Our government is so corrupt, so aligned, and so controlled by corporations and money that we will have to stand up, united and armed, and demand that they be handed to us for arrest and trial. We have to find honest judges and lawyers and we have to make sure that our laws are obeyed and we don't violate their rights while trying to retake ours. We must practice what we preach. Why the guns, because if you think they are going to stand there while thousands of unarmed citizens make demands you are crazy. We need to have massive numbers of people, all armed, to deter any action against us. We do not want a fight, we do not want war, but we will not be denied our rights and we will not allow the criminals to run this prison that use to be America. It's the second amendment because its the most important after our first amendment freedoms. They knew once you lost the first amendment, then the second is your only remaining option. We are nearly there and that's scary for most of us. We need to do this together because we can't fix any of our other problems while a bunch of elites who live in a different world from the rest of us are in control of everything.
You might be asking what can we do? Well, to start, go read the constitution or at least the Bill of Rights. Understand them and their value to you. Once you know your rights, its easier to see how often and horribly they are violated daily. Also, go read the words of Max Azzerrelo. Last March, a billionaire named Peter Thiel started a bank run on Silicon Valley Bank. I knew enough about Thiel that I found this incredibly suspicious: My hunch was that this was intentional, though I couldn’t fathom why. I began investigating online, and quickly found cryptocurrency’s fingerprints all over it. The bank run occurred just days after Silvergate Bank – which catered almost exclusively to crypto companies – collapsed. Meanwhile, several crypto cheerleaders were all over financial media warning of a regional banking crisis, and nobody in media was addressing the clear crypto connections. I dug deep into the financials of Thiel’s venture capital firm Founders Fund and eventually uncovered the following, all proven many times over. Cryptocurrency is our first planetary multi-trillion-dollar Ponzi scheme. It was expressly created for this purpose by a laundry list of rich and powerful people out of Stanford/Silicon Valley and Harvard/Facebook. The March 2023 bank failures were all intentional: the banks were used to move out stolen Ponzi money. This signals that they’re no longer dumping cash in to keep the cryptocurrency Ponzi afloat, and that it will soon go insolvent, as all Ponzis must. When the Ponzi scheme goes insolvent, it will take down half the stock market with it: The perpetrators used their major companies to pipe into the blockchain so they could funnel money out from the crypto exchanges. This includes Google, Tesla, Apple, PayPal, Facebook, Disney, Walmart, Target, InBev, Zoom, and countless others. It is a Ponzi scheme so large that it created global inflation, which is why the price of Bitcoin has been a remarkable leading indicator for inflation rates. Victims who bought crypto don’t realize their money has already been stolen, so the money gets double-counted by the victims and the criminals who stole it. As it turns out, our elites are awash in Ponzi schemes. Stanford’s StartX.com investment fund and Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘Program for Evolutionary Dynamics’ he ran at Harvard are both fake-science Ponzi factories that these schools have invested billions in: They are filled with fraudulent companies that use smoke and mirrors to promise miraculous new technology, but always collapse while the perpetrators only get richer.

Funneling trillions of dollars in stolen cash through the stock market created the largest stock-market anomaly in history. The stock chart signature of a Ponzi scheme is a massive increase (while they stack up cash) and then a massive fall (as they funnel out the stolen cash). This chart shape appeared in all the companies listed above. In order to explain the massive anomaly, our criminal government unleashed COVID on the world and told us these were the “stay at home stocks.”

Ponzi schemes are vicious beasts, and cryptocurrency is history’s largest Ponzi by orders of magnitude. It could best be described as an economic doomsday device, intentionally made to shatter the world economy. The U.S. government is fully involved in this totalitarian con: To illustrate its bipartisan support, I’ll note that nearly every participant of the Clinton Global Initiative has ties to cryptocurrency, while two of the biggest tech VCs who participated are Trump associates Josh Kushner and Anthony Scaramucci. To better understand our form of government, I will point you to one of the most astonishing pieces of stand-alone evidence I’ve found: Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton’s 1988 DNC speech where he nominated Mike Dukakis for president against George H.W. Bush. The speech is a vile, mean-spirited roast of Dukakis that makes no sense whatsoever: For Clinton to ruthlessly attack a member of his own party should have been political suicide, and he repeatedly mocks Dukakis’ noble and earnest qualities. Notably, actor Rob Lowe, who was supporting Dukakis, was victim of a teen sex blackmail operation at the DNC that year. Since we know Clinton is a close associate with teen sex blackmail artist Jeffrey Epstein, we can suddenly make perfect sense of the nonsensical speech by applying this lens: Bill Clinton is a cocky mob boss who blackmailed Mike Dukakis because Dukakis thought his job was to help the public. He teases out the future public revelation that Kitty Dukakis drank rubbing alcohol, and offers a strange anecdote about the crack epidemic that reveals he is an exceedingly proud drug runner. What does this revelation tell us? That our government is conning us completely. That Bill Clinton was secretly on (former CIA Director) George H.W. Bush’s side, and that the Democrat vs. Republican division has been entirely manufactured ever since: Clinton is with Bush; Gore is with Bush; Trump is with Hillary, and so on. When they present themselves in public, they are acting as characters that are against one another, practicing kayfabe as wrestlers do. As it turns out, we have a secret kleptocracy: Both parties are run by financial criminals whose only goals are to divide, deceive, and bleed us dry. They divide the public against itself and blame the other party while everything gets worse and more expensive and handful of people take all the money.

Since it is fully parasitic, a secret kleptocracy is an incredibly unstable form of government – left to its own devices, it can only lead to fascism or failed state.

One of the key findings of this research is that Harvard University is one of the largest organized crime fronts in history, which is how they churn out billionaires – it’s a major hub of this sprawling criminal network. As it turns out, dozens of the writers of The Simpsons went to Harvard. So I asked myself the question: If The Simpsons served the interests of organized crime, how would it do so? Well, it offers a dysfunctional family suffering from moral decay, a community incapable of solving its problems, a worker drone who slaves away for an evil billionaire, and cathartic laughs for our poor collective circumstances. There are some notable specifics as it relates to this research, too: In Marge vs. The Monorail, the townsfolk are too oafish and divided to invest in the town’s needs (fix Main Street) and fall for the charms of a dazzling showman with a bogus monorail Ponzi scheme. When we know that the show is closely linked to an organization that invests billions of dollars in Ponzi factories, this becomes quite damning. In Lisa the Iconoclast, Lisa discovers that town founder Jebediah Springfield was a secret criminal con artist, and that the townsfolk’s lives are a lie. Realizing this is an important discovery, she desperately tries to get the townsfolk to listen to her. But they meet her with hostility, apathy, disbelief, and partisanship and she fails to get through to them. Ultimately, she realizes the town is so far gone that perhaps it’s better for them to be lied to by con artists, and she keeps the secret to herself. And here I’ve been, like Lisa Simpson, desperately trying to get friends, family, and the public to believe the proof of a totalitarian con I’m trying to show them, and they’ve turned away with hostility, apathy, disbelief, and partisanship. And so, we realize the criminal truth of The Simpsons: Our elites are telling us that our eroding collective circumstances are our own fault, and we can’t do anything about it, while they steal the American Dream from us. It is, for lack of a more elegant word, brainwashing. — Lastly, we string these major discoveries together: Cryptocurrency is an economic doomsday device; our government is a secret kleptocracy; The Simpsons exists to brainwash us. From there, the only research we need is critical thinking and we’re able to piece together the true story of our circumstances. Consider America since 1988: Institutions like healthcare and universities have become parasitic in their skyrocketing prices. News media tells us to be angry and tribalized. Daytime television warns us of moral decay. Local news tell us to fear our neighbors. The Simpsons tells us we’re too oafish and divided to save the American Dream. Seinfeld tells us to celebrate the assholes and be irritated by all the normal people around us. “Reality” TV tells us that real life is filled with hedonism and strife. Social media, owned by crypto criminals like Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, is flooded with nonsense conspiracy theories and memes reminding us that we are hopeless, helpless, anxious, depressed, ironic, scared, apathetic, escapist, lonely, misguided, and jaded, telling us we can’t do anything but have a laugh at our circumstances. Liberals mock the hypocrisy of conservatives; conservatives mock the hypocrisy of liberals, and our collective circumstances erode. The left shouts “All Cops Are Bastards,” which ensures they’ll be hated by the police and the public (and flies in the face of leftist theory). The public’s distrust of the government is at an all-time high, but so is the belief that we are helpless to do anything about it. And with all this, a sharp rise in apocalyptic messaging: Climate change will kill us all; COVID will kill us all; vaccines will kill us all; AI will kill us all – no matter the bubbles we ascribe to, we’re bombarded with existential crises with no solutions. We’ve seen a surge in apocalyptic film, literature, and video games that tell us there is no way out of our poor circumstances but total societal breakdown. Zombies tell us that the public is our enemy. If you go to your nearest convenience store, you can buy a can of water called “Liquid Death.” This is our rotten farce: For our entire lives, we have been flooded with media designed to slowly steer us into a world where the American Dream was dead, where the public was fully divided against itself, where everybody believed we were powerless to do anything about our worsening circumstances. It is all so they can organize an unprecedented, apocalyptic rug pull on the entire populace as they pivot to fascism, which is perhaps best understood as kleptocracy at the barrel of a gun. When we piece it all together, we understand the truth: We are in a totalitarian doomsday cult. Why on earth would our elites do this? There are many reasons, but the simplest is because capitalism is unsustainable, and they knew it: Climate change and resource extraction would catch up eventually. So, they never intended to sustain it. They knew all along that they would gobble up all the wealth they could, and then yank the rug out from under us so they could pivot to a hellish fascist dystopia. — Things escalated wildly in 1988 when former CIA Director George H.W. Bush got the White House, but this plan had been in action long prior: Why is Stanley Kubrick’s comedy about mutually assured destruction called Dr. Strangelove: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb? Because he was a cocky secret fascist who was getting us to stop worrying and love the bomb. Why did he make A Clockwork Orange? So we’d rejoice at ultra-violence designed to desensitize us to the horrors of the world. Why were the Manson Family murders crawling with cover-ups and intelligence agents? Because our government wanted to make us fear for our lives and believe that hippies are deranged psychopaths. Why did Walt Disney produce a fraudulent documentary that told us Lemmings follow each other off cliffs? So we would believe it. Why did The Beatles tell us to fear the taxman, to scoff at revolution, chase nonsense conspiracy theories, and that happiness is a warm gun? So we would believe it. Why did Easy Rider tell us that the hippie movement was dead? So we would believe it. Why did Chinatown end with defeatism in the face of massive corruption? So we would believe it. Why did George Orwell tell us of a hellish future of totalitarian control that we are powerless to stop? So we would believe it. Why did Wall Street tell us “greed is good”? So we would believe it. Why did Do The Right Thing tell us we’re all racially tribalized? So we would believe it. Why did Simpsons creator Matt Groening make a comic strip called Life in Hell? So we would believe it. And on, and on, and on, and on. When it comes to any popular media, if you ask yourself the question, “Why would secret doomsday cult kleptocrats want the public to consume this?”, you will find your answers. — This is obviously very bad news, but the biggest lie we’ve been told is that we are powerless. We’ve got one way out of hellworld, and that’s for the public to realize that we’ve been conned completely so we can build a united movement that shatters every lie they’ve told us, mocks this rotten farce as loudly as it deserves, and aims at nothing short of abolishing our criminal government so we can build one that serves the public. To understand this story is to see right through the con, to become immune to the endless sea of criminal propaganda, and to feel the great joy and power that comes with freedom. If a small number of people quickly put on these truth-colored glasses, we are in for an unimaginably bright future. If not, we get an apocalypse. So I am on a hunt for a particular type of perfume. So many years back, I had this perfume that like smelled so sweet almost candy if it was bottled. It was a cheap drugstore type perfume from like an e-commerce platform, so like the longevity was so trash (less than 30 mins). But it smelled so sweet.
So now coming to my point, as I am getting ready for my second haul soon, I am looking for a perfume that smells so candy like and sweet. I want like pink personified as smell. I imagine my pink ponies to smell like that or candyland to smell like that.

Although my collection tends to grow and shrink over time, here is its current state. Feel free to rate or add something you think I should try out. Thanks!
Front (L to R)

• Thé Noir 29 (Le Labo) - This was my first purchase with Le Labo. I like it for its unique tea and hay blend, which dries down into a sweet, warm wood and musk. I grab this when I'm wanting a bit of warmth.
• Gaiac 10 (Le Labo) - This reminds me of a mesquite fire. The guaiac wood is smoky, and I love how it dries down into the frankincense. When I first tested this, I sprayed my arm and decided it wasn't for me, but after about an hour, I just kept smelling my arm. The dry down is what sold me.
• Thé Matcha 26 (Le Labo) - Sweet. Sort of like how Starbuck's matcha is overly sweet. The dry down mellows down though with the cedar and sandalwood, which I rather enjoy. This is when I want something a bit bright and cheerful, but not super clean.
• Baie 19 (Le Labo) - Petrichor. The scent was just too unique for me to pass up. It smells like the earth right after the start of a good rain. It also vaguely reminds me of gin because of the juniper. I gravitate towards this in the fall when I'm wishing it was spring.
• Karst (Aēsop) - I had high hopes for this, but the longevity is just not there for me given the price point. I do enjoy the fragrance a lot, as it reminds me of a rocky shoreline. With this one, I now often use it at night for a light scent shortly before bed. If during the day, I'll layer it with other scents.
• Woodland Moss (Bamford) - This was the fragrance I had settled upon before stumbling across Fueguia. I was first introduced to Bamford via Cathay Pacific (same with Aesop actually). I enjoy their nature scents. This one has angelica, sage, and patchouli. It evokes forest bathing, but without all the nature.

Middle

• The Night (Frédéric Malle) - Dominique Ropion is by far my favorite nose, and this was my first purchase where I really questioned my sanity. If I were to distill my list of favorite notes, everything in The Night would be included: oud, incense, rose, sandalwood, saffron. One spray of this lasts for days and has a pronounced sillage. I reserve this for special occasions. I also bought the hair mist as a means to enjoy the scent but with a somewhat lessened "in you face" punch.
• Promise (Frédéric Malle) - "The Night" Take 2. Both have heavy rose notes, yet where The Night has oud, Promise has cypriol and ambroxan. The pink pepper creeps in and gives a hint of spice. This is another guilty pleasure of mine, thanks again to Ropion.
• Musc Ravageur (Frédéric Malle) - Dirty, animalistic amber. I'm not sure what exactly it is, but when I'm wanting something a bit abrasive or dirty this is my go-to. The musk, mixed with vanilla and amber work like a charm.
• L'Eau d'Hiver (Frédéric Malle) - It is a well-balanced floral and citrus—an atypical scent for me. When I'm feeling I want the opposite of my warm woody notes, I spray this and nestle into the cold notes this evokes.
• Portrait of a Lady (Frédéric Malle) - My signature scent for several years, which unfortunately is too pronounced for use in Tokyo, but was perfect in Shanghai. Ropion did an excellent job with Portrait of a Lady. The blackcurrant buds yield their time to the rose, which stays strong but eventually shares the stage with patchouli. All through the incense and sandalwood provide warmth and character. I love, love this scent and wish I could wear it more.
• Black Saffron (Byredo) - A warm scent of violet and vetiver, with leather and saffron becoming more pronounced over time. I grab this when I want to switch up my usual routine.
• Replica Coffee Break (Maison Margiela) - This was a quirky buy, as I was looking for something a bit different—though it still has sandalwood. The creamy scent is just enough to brighten this cozy fragrance. I use this on colder days when I crave warm drinks.
• Replica Across Sands (Maison Margiela) - This was one of my signature scents for awhile. It reminds me of a souq, and a short trip I took to the desert... The combination of leather, oud, incense, and cedar really draws me in. I pull this out when I'm feeling nostalgic and want something not so subtle. It was also my first perfume from Margiela.
• Replica Sailing Day (Maison Margiela) - Clean ocean spray. This is one of my go-to scents on hot summer days. It acts like a perfume without any of the weight.

Back

• Kimonanthe (Diptypque) - Japanese temples in a bottle. The scent of camphor, sandalwood, and leather set the tone, while the osmanthus and Japanese incense provide the highlights you'd find while walking the temple grounds. Living in Tokyo, Kimonanthe allows me to wear a stronger scent without the guilt.
• Milonga Verde (Fueguia) - I just recently discovered Fueguia and believe they may quickly become new favorite house. The oils in Fueguia's perfumes give great performance and longevity. Algarrobo, pink ipê, and jacaranda leaves make up the primary notes—which to me are all rather unique and brought my attention to new woody scents. As the fragrance is more intimate yet long-lasting (I yet again find myself frequently drawn to smelling it on my skin), this is now my new signature while I explore what Fueguia has to offer.
• Arancia La Spugnatura (Acqua di Parma) - I wanted a citrus scent last summer, and found Arancia as it was being released. I feel as if I've been to an orchard and have been opening up oranges with my hands—likely what the artisans smelled like while collecting the oils with sea sponges. Super clean, with a lightly sweet citrus scent.
• Colonia Pura (Acqua di Parma) - My first purchase with AdP. While Sailing Day offers a clean, ocean spray, Colonia Pura offers a clean wood and citrus. It certainly has more weight, but is a great summer fragrance. I usually rotate Sailing Day, Arancia, and this during the hotter days.
• Al Kassir (Buly) - One of Buly's Huile Antique. I love Al Kassir in this oil formation. This was a gift, and my first introduction to Buly. I use this during drier days or during the night. The warmth (sandalwood) and depth (cardamom, ginger, honey, osmanthus) are a great way to unwind and drift off to sleep.
• The Inimitable William Penhaligon (Penhaligon's) - I'll admit, the primary reason I bought this was because of the bottle and nostalgia—as a kid growing up with my grandparents on the farm, we raised goats. The perfume is a mix of notes I regularly enjoy: vetiver, incense, sandalwood, cedar, and bergamot. My only issue is this doesn't last nearly as long as I had hoped given the price point.
• Le Male (Jean Paul Gaultier) - Nostalgia buy, pure and simple. This was my high school perfume. The tonka, mint, and lavender are clean and fun.
• Le Male Le Parfum (Jean Paul Gaultier) - I bought this the same day I picked up Le Male above. The stores I had visited didn't have Le Male, so I bought this thinking it was close enough. When I visited one final store that had Le Male, and I ended up with both. I feel Le Parfum is a bit more grown up, with the addition of woods and iris.
• La Nuit de l'Homme Eau de Toilette (Yves Saint Laurent) - Another nostalgia buy, but a few years after college this time. I believe this was my first Ropion purchase as well. I enjoyed this one for nights out. I also think my interest in woody fragrances likely started from this perfume. Though I feel it's rather mainstream, I really enjoy the balance of cedar, sandalwood, vetiver, tonka, and bergamot.

My takeaway after listing these out are that I apparently love sandalwood. For the times I'm not using a woody scent, a very soft floral or grassy scent pick up the slack. As for the houses, Le Labo was fun, but somewhat short lived for me. EDP by Frédéric Malle is fantastic, but usually run on the stronger side in terms of sillage—which is not bad, unless you live in a country that actually has a term for "smell harassment". As mentioned, Fueguia seems to be well-positioned to become my new favorite house. They offer great perfumes with many unique ingredients, and have a rather intimate sillage.

• Brinkley Glen Park: Invasive Plant Removal. Join Master Gardener Volunteers at this weekly invasive plant removal event. This is a great way to learn to ID our invasive plant species and how to remove them. We recommend wearing long pants and sleeves, closed-toed shoes, gloves, a hat and mosquito spray. Bring gardening tools such as hand clippers, loppers, trowels, etc. if you have them. We are removing coral ardisia bushes and berries, nandina, tung trees, Tradescantia flumenensis, cat's claw vine, winged yam, Japanese climbing fern, skunkvine and more. 0. Introduction and general info

Hello, I have seen many folks coming to Poland from the EU and being completely lost on what kind of legal procedures they have to do in order to start their residence in Poland. Be that you come here to study, work or live with your spouse there are several things I hope this guide will be able to cover.
Poland is divided into 16 voivodeships which are further subdivided into powiats, which means something like 'county' and these are further made out of municipalities - pol. gmina, or cities - pol. miasto. Large cities however are both powiat and miasto so in case of Warsaw, Wrocław, Kraków etc. city office (pol. urząd miasta) will also perform duties of powiat office (pol. starostwo powiatowe). In case of Warsaw - urząd dzielnicy meaning district office will serve as city office.
All of the below information cover only EU citizens. If you are non-EU, majority of the below information will not be correct for your case.

I. Registering your residence and making your stay in Poland legal.

EU citizens do not need to do anything to live and settle in another EU country for less than 90 days What they need to do if they want to stay for more than 3 months however, is to register with local authorities. The process consists of two parts:

1. Registering your address and obtaining PESEL (pol. Zameldowanie, similar to german Anmeldung). You do that in the municipality/city office (pol. urząd gminy/miasta) of the municipality/city that you live in (exception: district office in case of Warsaw, pol. urząd dzielnicy) by presenting legal rent contract, ownership document or similar for the address you want to register at. You receive PESEL on the spot upon successful registration. After you do that for the first time each subsequent change of address you can register online. You have 30 days after arrival to register, if you plan on staying longer than 3 months. side note: you will often find address registration (pol. zameldowanie) translated as temporary or permanent residence registration. This is a result of machine translations, correct translation is temporary address registration and permanent address registration. The links above point you towards temporary address registration. The reason why is that in order to get permanent address registration you have to have permanent stay in Poland (on exactly how to obtain one you can read below) and either own the house or apartment or have it being rented to you based on infinite-time contract. Both of these conditions will be very rare if you are coming first time to live in Poland.

1. In order to legally reside in Poland for a period longer than 3 months (6 if you are actively looking for job), you have to obtain "EU registration certificate" (pol. Zaświadczenie o zarejestrowaniu pobytu obywatela UE). This is done in the Voivodeship Office (pol. urząd wojewódzki) of the voivodeship that you live in. The application consists of a single form, couple of passport-style photos and attachments that will prove how you will sustain yourself:

a) If you are working: employment contract
b) If you are running a business in Poland: KRS or CEiDG printout
c) If you are studying or under vocational training: confirmation of enrollment to a university or vocational school AND conformation of health insurance (read below) AND a proof of "sufficient funds": bank statement with enough money to your name, credit card limit statement, scholarship document or proof of work income. The documents cannot be older than one month.
d) If you are as an EU citizen joining another EU citizen as a family member in Poland: registration certificate of the family member you are joining (or their polish ID card if they are polish citizen) AND marriage certificate (marriage) or birth certificate (children/parents) together with a statement that you will be financially dependent on your already registered family member.
e) Neither of the above: conformation of health insurance (read below) AND a proof of "sufficient funds": bank statement with enough money to your name, credit card limit statement, scholarship document or proof of work income. The documents cannot be older than one month.
Remember that all documents (apart from your ID and/or passport and EUHIC) have to be translated to polish first.
There is no direct guideline on how much funds is "sufficient funds". This is every time individually assessed by the clerk that handles your case.
Proof of health insurance (from points c,d and e) is either your EU Health Insurance Card (EUHIC) if you retain right to healthcare in your home country, proof of polish public insurance (see how to get one below in part II) or private insurance equivalent in coverage to polish public insurance (very rare, don't do that).
You can read about this procedure in full detail here for masovian voivodeship: https://migrant.wsc.mazowieckie.pl/pl/procedury/rejestracja-pobytu-obywatela-ue. This is very simple, the form has 2 pages and you basically cannot receive a negative decision if you did everything right.
You receive the decision on the spot and a plastic card some 30 days later (This is how it looks). Your plastic card is a certificate that you live in poland legally and is issued for 10 years. Note, that the card is not an ID in a sense that your official Identity Document whilst living in Poland is your EU ID card or passport. This is similar to the case with Driver's licenses which are also not an ID hover both DL and your registration certificate most often will be used to identify you but some institutions (banks, courts, notary, public administration office etc.) will require a "proper" ID from you. The registration certificate, the same as Driver's license proves you hold a certain right (right to reside or right to drive motor vehicles).
Because the Registration Certificate proves your stay is legal in Poland, you need to carry it on your person at all times when in public. Fines for this are very rare and more targeted towards non-EU citizens but just in case I will live it here. You do not have to carry your national ID and/or passport on you but you certainly can.
Whenever you lose or damage your document or the data or your appearance on it will change, you are obliged to exchange it for a new one.
After 5 years of uninterrupted residence in Poland you are entitled to obtain Document Proving Permanent Residence of an EU foreigner (pol. dokument potwierdzający prawo stałego pobytu obywatela unii europejskiej) which is then issued for indefinite period (but the physical card will be valid for 15 years so you would have to exchange that one). The procedure is even simpler, you need to prove you were residing in Poland for 5 consecutive years (3 if you are married with a polish person). Ia. Okay that's cool but what is Karta Pobytu I am being asked for and how do I get one?

EU citizens CANNOT OBTAIN KARTA POBYTU - this document is ONLY for non-EU citizens. You will not, in a 1000 attempts obtain it. Karta Pobytu is a supplementary document to a residence permit which EU citizens do not need to reside in Poland and cannot obtain.
That being said, the proportion of EU foreigners to non-EU foreigners in Poland is approximately 4% by the end of 2022. Because EU foreigners are in such minority, very few people know about their procedures. They just assume that since non-EU foreigners have Karta Pobytu, the EU foreigners should have one as well, right? Wrong, and it will be your job to educate bank clerks, public administration officials, police (maybe not them), mobile phone operator's sales reps and many more people about it. This is to explain that this is common enough occurence that it will happen to you at some point. Don't let them push you out. The only thing you need to have in poland is passport/EU ID, zameldowanie and registration certificate and YOU will have to explain that to people.

II. Obtaining healthcare

After your stay in Poland is legal the second most important thing to address is obtaining your public healthcare coverage. In Poland healthcare is predominantly tied to work or some other activity (bummer) but of course this is not america and there are multiple of ways on how to obtain coverage. The body responsible for your insurance is ZUS (pol. zakład ubezpieczeń społecznych, literally social security establishment) however the body that runs public healthcare is NFZ (pol. Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia, national health fund).
All workers in Poland are automatically insured with state healthcare insurance (NFZ) through their employer. The employer is obliged to register you with ZUS and pay the contributions and deduct some contributions from your gross pay.^{Side note: This does not apply to self-employment and Umowa o Dzieło}
If you are studying - but only if you lost right to healthcare in your country, the university will arrange your insurance. Remember, the university is obliged by law to get you insured if you don't have any other source of insurance (not employed, not covered by your home country). Then it's them who register you with ZUS but you have to actively apply for them to do that.
There are also other ways to obtain the insurance (you can skip that part if you are employed or studying):

• paying for insurance out of pocket - if you don't have any other title to insurance from the ones listed below, you can just register with ZUS and pay for your healthcare voluntarily. The rate is 9% of average pay (so as of 2024 726,93 PLN). • being insured with a parent or a spouse - pretty self explanatory, you have to tell this to whoever pays your deductions (employer, school or do it yourself is self-employed) and they will get your family member "added" to your insurance. You can do that at any time you have valid insurance. There are of course many details who can register which children etc. but we will not go into that here, ask in comments if you want to know.
• pension - pretty self explanatory, you don't have to register since ZUS also pays out the pensions they know everything
• conducting business activity - you have to register yourself as the one insured and paying the ZUS deductions. This is complicated and you should ask your accountant about details on how to exactly do that.
• registered unemployed - if you find yourself unemployed you can register with any job office (pol. Urząd Pracy) which will grant you insurance. The catch is you have to go to the training courses and job interviews that they provide for you and they are usually pretty shit. If you miss even one interview they deregister you and you lose healthcare.

III. Using healthcare

After you get insured and you are all "green" in the system, you choose your GP (general practitioner, pol. lekarz POZ) by filing a declaration at the doctors' office.
The whole system here is based around the POZ doctor being your first point of contact with the entire healthcare system. The primary doctor you selected will make your regular check-ups, vaccinations, first diagnostic in case you are ill, treat you for usual stuff and most importantly write you referrals for specialists, if something more serious should happen to you. They can also write you a referral to the hospital should your case require hospitalisation. Your POZ doctor will also usually be the one to write you a sick leave (L4) should you be sick from work. This is the first layer of the healthcare system and really choosing a good primary doctor is extremely important. You can also change the POZ doctor i think twice a year, should you be disappointed with the care you are receiving. If you need to use care which falls under the POZ level outside of normal business hours you can use NPL which stands for "night and holiday medical care".
On the first layer is also the "work medicine". You are referred to workplace medicine by your school or workplace for a health certificate.
On the second layer you have specialists (like dermatologist, neurologist etc etc.) You are referred to them by your POZ doctor. The specialists reside in clinics (przychodnia specjalistyczna), one per each region (przychodnia rejonowa, this is also where many POZ doctors will be found) and by the hospitals (przychodnia przyszpitalna) and also some stand alone NFZ-contacted clinics. If you are referred to a specialist by your POZ doctor you have to make an appointment with them yourself. Usually there is a little bit of wait at this step, depending on the specialization (for example neurologists have very long waiting times). You can register with any specialist clinic of your choosing, you don't have to go to your assigned regional one.
The third layer are the hospitals and you are either referred to them, carried by an ambulance or admitted through SOR which is polish for Emergency Room.
You can also use private healthcare on any layer apart from the hospital one usually. Using private healthcare does not exclude using NFZ in any extent. You can go to your private POZ doctor, you can see specialists privately. The catch is you have to pay for the visits or some kind of subscription and you cannot get free treatments, medication (or reduced price on medication) etc. etc.
Private healthcare also completely falls apart whenever there is anything more serious than a broken arm or similar. People will often use private healthcare for primary care but use the normal NFZ route for more advanced health issues..
You should really also have your NFZ at all times as it is strictly necessary for anything more serious and dirt cheap. The quality of hospital care in poland is ok I guess, however private hospitals with advanced treatments are non-existent.
In order to find a good POZ doctor (or any doctor really) look through sites like znanylekarz.pl. You can filter there by language, insurance (NFZ/ non-NFZ) and read reviews.

IV. Taxes

All taxes are paid to the Tax Offices (pol. Urząd Skarbowy). Since the Tax Offices are independent from regional government, they tend to cover areas that are not particularly aligned with municipalities/cities borders. To find which tax office your residential address falls under, you can look here.
Every person that has income in Poland has to tax it in Poland. This is called "limited tax liability". After 185 days of stay and/or by moving your "life centre" to poland (subject to individual decision) you gain unlimited tax liability in poland meaning you have to declare all your income (even made abroad) in that tax year and you might have to pay taxes from it.
The taxes from your job are paid each month by your employer. Each year, every employer will send you and to the tax office a PIT-11 statement. By the end of April next year you will have to file PIT-37 annual statement in your tax office. Nowadays, this is done online here: https://www.podatki.gov.pl/pit/twoj-e-pit/ (You will need either one of secure digital log-in solutions that you can find in part V). If you are only working and do not have other sources of income you will file PIT-37 which will be automatically filled for you on the website.
If you run a business, have income from abroad, have income from rental you will file PIT-36 instead of PIT-37. This one will not fill automatically and is somewhat more complicated but we will not cover this here and you should ask an accountant.
If you have any capital gains (stocks, bonds, crypto etc.) You will receive from your broker PIT-8C (similar to PIT-11 from employers). You then have to file PIT-38 alongside your PIT-36 or PIT-37 by the end of April the following tax year.
To calculate your gross/net pay you can use one of the calculators available on the web. There are several factor that influence your pay. In general, after deducting pension and healthcare the resulting amount is taxable. Between 0-30 000 PLN /year there is no tax, between 30 000 - 120 000 PLN there is 12 % tax and above 120 000 per year the tax goes up to 32%. There are many deductions available.
Capital gains are taxed with flat 19% rate.
If you do not (yet) work nor conduct business in Poland but find yourself in a position where you will need to pay tax on something You will have to register yourself with the tax office using ZAP-3 form. You can do that online here. One such case is paying the excise duty on an imported vehicle (see section VIa) or if you are not working but your spouse is and you do the joint tax statement (possible with pit-36).

V. Digital log-in and services

So in Poland a lot of official matters can be solved through internet. There are couple of ways of secure log-in to governmental services, only some of which will be available to you as a foreigner. The main one is Profil Zaufany (pol. for Trusted Profile). This is a secure digital log-in platform that can be used (as of the writing of this) on all governmental platforms. To set it up you need to have PESEL already assigned (see section I subsection 2). You set Your Profil Zaufany here: https://www.gov.pl/web/profilzaufany. You will be asked how you want to confirm it and as a foreigner you have only two options: through a polish bank which you are a client of or by visiting a conformation point. The idea is that the bank account that you opened in person or a person at the conformation point sees you and verifies your identity with your EU ID or Passport. I would recommend doing that through a polish bank as its faster.
Ater you set your PZ you can use it to log-in to various services. These are a couple of them:

• IKP or Internetowe konto pacjenta - https://pacjent.gov.pl/internetowe-konto-pacjenta a web service where you can access your medical data, prescriptions, referrals, see your assigned POZ doctor and other data from public healthcare system and from 2025 private ones as well.
• e-Urząd Skarbowy (pol. Tax e-office) - https://www.podatki.gov.pl/e-urzad-skarbowy/ we have already covered that
• PUE ZUS - https://www.zus.pl/portal/logowanie.npi?jezyk=pl digital platform for ZUS related matters. Here you can see your sick leaves, pension details. This is also where you would pay contributions and file declaration if you are self employed or using voluntary health insurance. The website is absolute trash though and you need a lot of patience with it.
• ePUAP - https://epuap.gov.pl/wps/portal this was supposed to be the most powerful tool which aggregates ALL official matters into one platform but with multiple changes of governments this idea kinda vanished. This will serve for using your Profile Zaufany to sign documents with something called Podpis Zaufany (trusted signature). This is a way to sign .pdf files legally equivalent to your hand signature when contacting government bodies. ePUAP also serves as a mailbox for contacting governmental agencies. You can mail official documents, applications and other stuff through it (you can for example do zameldowanie though it as I said above).

VI. Cars and licenses

You can use your EU license in poland for as long as its valid. You can exchange it for a polish one if you wish so. The body responsible for issuing licenses is powiat so you have to go to your powiat/city office website to find a detailed procedure. Here it is for Warsaw.
If you own a vehicle in Poland you must have it registered to your name.
Please note: the below guides refer to used vehicles. If you buy a new car the procedure is different

VIa. Registering a car brought from another EU country

If you own a vehicle registered in another EU country and live in poland for 185 days or longer, you have to register it on polish plates if you bring it here. Registration is done at powiat level so you need to visit your powiat/city office. If you live in poland for 185 days and import an EU-registered vehicle after the 185th day of your stay, you would have 30 days to register it. If you drove it from abroad within these 185 days, you have to register it until 185th day passes (this is somewhat murky in the law but in general do that). The registration of an imported vehicle is somewhat complicated.
The registration procedure consist of three main parts: taxes and import clearance, technical inspection and registration itself.

1. excise duty, customs.

When importing a vehicle from abroad you must pay customs and duties. Since you brought it from the EU, you don't pay customs but you must pay excise duty (pol. akcyza or podatek akcyzowy). You do that by first filing a declaration and then paying the requested amount. If you have Profil Zaufany you can do that online by following the guide here and filing AKC-US (1) form. If you would rather do that in person, you have to go to your assigned tax office (pol. Urząd Skarbowy) and file AKC-US there. Excise duty is 3.1% of the car value for vehicles with engines smaller than 2 liters and 18.6% for cars with larger engines.
Irregardless of whether you file it online or in-person you will receive a payment confirmation which is the first attachment to your registration form.

1. technical inspection.

All vehicles in Poland must pass a technical inspection to be legal to drive. You do that before the first registration and then after 3 years since their manufacture cars require annual technical checks. This can only be done at licensed technical control stations (pol. Stacja Kontroli Pojazdów) or SKP for short. To find an SKP you can just google them in your area and pick the closest one - the technical inspection is conducted exactly the same everywhere although you might find inspectors more "lenient" towards certain imperfections. You usually need to schedule an appointment with them. This will cost you 98 PLN (the price is set by the law).

1. the registration itself.

Now having the excise duty payment confirmation and technical inspection certificate you can go again to the powiat/city office that you live in, (district office in Warsaw, pol. urząd dzielnicy) and file for registration at the communications department. You will first fill the form attach to that both attachments from previous points and all of the other attachments as described on the website I linked above.
You have to attach the following attachments to your form from the section "required documents" from the website.

• the form itself
• the declaration under criminal liability
• personal data processing consent
• declaration when the vehicle was imported
• proof of ownership
• Current registration certificate
• Current registration plates
• proof of payment of the excise duty (see above)
• proof of the technical inspection
• translations (if needed)
• your passport/EU ID with the EU registration certificate and the certificate of address registration (zameldowanie)

Together a form, 8 attachments and your ID, reg cert + zameldowanie
Then the clerk will take all the docs from you and you will be asked to pay 157.50 PLN at the cash desk/kiosk at the office. You will then come back to the clerk with the proof of payment and you will be issued temporary registration certificate as well as your new and shiny license plates. You can then mount them on your car and with your temp registration certificate you are all set. At this point you have to buy OC insurance to be able to drive a temporary registered vehicle on the road. You also need the insurance certificate (the normal, 12-month one) to collect your permanent registration certificate. You then wait until your permanent registration certificate is ready (you will get an sms or you can check it on info-car.pl website) and with the proof of insurance you collect the permanent registration certificate.
Hooray! Your cas is now registered.

1. Your responsibilities as a vehicle owner in Poland

Your duties as a car owner in Poland are: Apart from obeying traffic and parking rules, you need to make sure your vehicle has valid insurance, you have to keep it in appropriate technical state and carry a fire extinguisher and a hazard triangle at all times (it is best to have a high-vis jacket and first aid kit as well but its not mandatory). Every year if the car is older than 3 years you will have to go to the SKP for annual technical inspection. It will cost you 98 PLN. You also have to renew your OC insurance each year (insurances are typically valid for 1 year and they automatically renew, you just have to pay the fee or negotiate a new one). Not having either of these makes it illegal to drive this vehicle and you can get a large fine (especially for lack of insurance).

VIb. Registering a used car bought in Poland

If you buy a used vehicle in Poland, you will then have 30 days after purchase to register itm irregardless on how long you are residing. A guide for registering a used car bought in Poland:

1. Purchase

After you find your car of dreams, you and the seller will make a contract of sales (pol. umowa kupna-sprzedaży) if you buy from a natural person or an invoice (pol. faktura) if you buy from a dealer. From the previous owner you will receive the following:

• registration certificate (pol. dowód rejestracyjny) and license plates (pol. tablice rejestracyjna) if the vehicle is registered
• vehicle card (pol. karta pojazdu) if the owner has is since its not mandatory anymore
• a set of keys
• proof of insurance, if the vehicle has active insurance
• service documents etc.

Remember that if the vehicle does not have valid insurance and valid technical inspection you cannot legally drive it anywhere and you will need to haul it somehow. Whilst insurance can be just bought, the technical inspection requires you to take the vehicle to vehicle control station (pol. Stacja Kontroli Pojazdów, SKP).
Now from the moment you purchased the vehicle, 30 day deadline starts - you have exactly 30 days to file for registration of this vehicle otherwise you will get fined.

1. Sales tax

The first item on the list will be to settle the sales tax. In poland it is the buyer (you) that pays the tax. If the sale exceeds 1000 PLN of value (not the price you put on the contract! The value of the item can be independent of its price, so don't have any funny ideas and just make the contract where price=market value and is not significantly lower just to avoid tax) you have to file PCC-3 tax declaration in your tax office. You can file the PCC-3 declaration on-line as well (you still need to know which tax office you are sending this declaration to). The sales tax on motor vehicles is 2%. If your transaction is below 1000 PLN of value you do not file PCC-3 and do not pay the tax.

1. Registration itself

Then you will need to file for registration of this vehicle. In general you do that in the powiat/city office or in case of Warsaw - urząd dzielnicy. There you will look for communications department (pol. wydział komunikacji) and take appropriate number. You will need to have with you:

• filled registration form. It can be downloaded from the website of your powiat/city.
• current registration certificate
• sales document (bill of sale or an invoice)
• current license plate
• your ID (Passport,EU ID card )
• your EU registration certificate
• your confirmation of zameldowanie
• proof of payment of the registration fee
• proof of insurance for the vehicle

You can leave the plates that the car came with unchanged provided it is not damaged and is of current design. If you decide to do so, You will then be asked by nice lady/sir to go and pay the appropriate registration fee. It will be 80 PLN if you leave the current plate and 160 PLN if you will need a new one.
You will then receive temporary registration certificate (a pink one) that is valid for 30 days. You will be then texted via sms or through info-car.pl when your proper registration certificate is to be collected. Before you collect the registration certificate you will need to go to the insurer to change the data in the insurance to yours. If the vehicle was not insured you would have to buy a new insurance altogether so this would not apply. To collect the registration certificate you need both the insurance certificate and your vehicle has to have valid technical inspection, so if it was due for one this is the time you would do it.

VII. Banks and mobile phones

Every EU citizen has a right to open basic checking account in another EU country. You don't need registration certificate to open a bank account in Poland. Of course, given what we said in pt. Ia, you will find yourself being refused and they will scream at you about Karta Pobytu. What you need to do is, as we already established, tell them you are an EU citizen and you want to become new client. Most banks (with tellers that know how to handle cases of EU foreigners) will then open you an account with your EU ID/passport and PESEL (from section I point 2).
Most banks in Poland offer similar products and they really differ on availability of ATMs and some other details.
Whenever you purchase a mobile phone number in Poland, be that pre-paid or with a payment plan you will need to register the SIM card to your name. You will need to have your EU ID/Passport to do that and you usually can do that in the store you buy the SIM card, online through Profil Zaufany on the network website or at the service point of your network.

Hello everyone! I am very fortunate to have been accepted to medical school this cycle but now with financial aid offers coming out I am a little lost about how to think about the finances involved with attending school.
Background:

• I was lucky enough to graduate debt free from undergrad (financial aid/scholarships/working).
  
• My medical school is offering me $0 for the first year - totally fine I am beyond grateful to be accepted.
  
• My school is expected to cost around $160k (low cost of living area + not absurd tuition)
  
• I'm interested in family medicine
  
• My parents combined have never made above 100k with 3 kids so the physician salary is just hard for me to put into perspective.
  
• My parents are not financially savvy (hence why I'm posting here) and they won't be contributing anything so I can assume that I will be using loans to cover the cost of everything.
  

So with all this in mind I have about $5,000 dollars in my bank account by the time school starts. That being said I will need a car in order to start school which would probably be around $10,000 and so the rest will need to be covered with loans.
The real reason I am writing this post:
I really want to backpack through central Europe (western Balkans) for about a month before schools starts and also do a trip with a friend who is living there. I broke down the price of everything and I can expect to spend about $5,000 total. The thing is I really don't have the money since I need to buy a car but.... I could just use loans to essentially cover the cost of the trip/car.
So I guess how dumb of a thought process is this? I know Dave Ramsey would have an aneurism over this question but I just wanted to survey the reddit brain collective for anecdotal advice. is 165k vs 170k (maybe 175-180k with interest) really that big of a difference if it means I can mess around for a month and have a great time before starting school?
Tdlr - Is taking out an extra 5k in loans a bad idea if it means I could live it up before school starts? My cost of attendance is 160k.
