2024.04.28 16:13 Tricky_Accident_3121 Show me your hair accessories during your post chemo hair regrowth!

A more lighthearted post from me :)
Currently, I’m rocking a George Clooney salt and pepper Caesar hairstyle as my hair grows back. For the most part, it is what it is, and I just go about my business juggling all my balls in the air right now. But I also wanna be able to put something cutesy in to kinda switch things up, embrace my inner girly pop.
I have some boho-esque scarves, and they’re ok… they don’t go with really anything in my wardrobe though. I don’t think i can clip anything, like decorative Bobby pins, just yet. So headbands? Is there another option out there that I’m not thinking of?? I won’t do a wig- I’m in Phoenix and it’s already hot and I would rip the wig off in no time. I’m fine with rocking short hair… I just don’t know to rock my hair THIS short.
TIA!!

2024.04.26 20:49 namiii73 was anyone else very feminine before transitioning/realizing u were trans?

i’m still questioning everything right now so i guess i want to know others experience. one of my issues with myself rn is how feminine i have presented before, and i feel like everyone around me would be so confused if they knew my inner thoughts right now. my friends and family are used to me wearing tons of makeup, acrylic nails, and having a general interest in more feminine things like pink, cute stuff, romcoms, popstars, etc. i feel like some of these things were “performative” but others are things i genuinely love. i used to question my gender a lot more heavily in my high school and early college years, mainly wishing to be born a man or a “genderless alien” as i refered to it in my head. my current theory as to why i’m starting to question myself again in my late twenties is that i’m sober now. i think drugs and alcohol clouded my brain or something. anyways, i’m wondering if anyone has this experience, since part of me is thinking i’m just faking something or i must be very confused, since there is so much ab me that’s “girly”. i’ve decided to cut my nails and stop wearing makeup and i want to start dressing more masculine just to start things slow. last week i went somewhere with my fam and wore baggy jeans, a big t shirt, and nikes as that’s the most masculine clothing i own rn. but then i realized no one would think i look manly anyways, since my hair is about shoulder length, and i was carrying around a pink iphone with a pink cutesy phone case and i feel like that made me realize how ridiculous i would seem if i started telling people that i wanna be a man. my other problem is that i don’t want to change every superficial thing just to be more “manly”. sorry this is so long, but i hope i made sense and i appreciate anyones thoughts on the subject. thank you!

2024.04.26 16:52 babylait Advice for improving handwriting & learning cursive?

My handwriting is very inconsistent. I would really like to try out different styles to find one that feels more like “me” but I’m not sure how to go about this. I’ve always really disliked my handwriting. Advice/tips on how to go about this? Resources or guides? My least favorite letters in my current handwriting have to be: Y/y, D/d, J/j, Q/q, r, E, A, G - these I am never happy with but I am looking to totally revamp all of the letters in the alphabet!
I’m also looking for guidance and resources for learning cursive. It was required in second grade but that feels like a lifetime ago and it doesn’t come naturally anymore.

2024.04.25 14:13 alexandrze14 Do people in your country usually use or understand cursive writing in languages that use the Latin alphabet? I need it for signing postcards.

Hey everyone! My handwriting in languages that use Latin alphabet is mostly cursive with random letters looking like print and having spaces between letters within one word. But still, it looks mostly like cursive.
I usually write in print (which looks rather sloppy imo) when signing postcards to Japan, China, and sometimes India. It would be a good idea to know where people don't have trouble understanding cursive writing in languages that use the Latin alphabet and where people are less likely to understand your handwriting unless it's print.
An example of my handwriting in English and Spanish (both foreign languages to me but I'm quite decent at them)

2024.04.25 14:08 alexandrze14 Understanding of cursive in different countries

Hey everyone! I do postcrossing (exchange of real postcards around the world with the help of special websites and apps) and my handwriting in languages that use Latin alphabet is mostly cursive with random letters looking like print and having spaces between letters within one word. But still, it looks mostly like cursive.

As for age groups, they are absolutely different. If it's Europe and the Americas, it's usually people in their 50s, 60s etc, in Asia and Russia, users tend to be younger, like in their 20s and 30s but that's not a rule. Sometimes you draw kids' and teenagers' addresses.
Thank you in advance!

2024.04.23 09:18 Awesomeuser90 If you are bilingual, how good are you at reading and writing in handwriting in your other languages?

I can read the Cyrillic and Greek alphabets, not good at handwriting in either language. I can read some French too, but I would only read French handwriting very slowly, if at all, in most cases.
Also, for anyone who is something like 14 reading this, handwriting, also known as cursive, is this thing adults used to have to learn in school because old teachers used to be somehow unable to read anything we wrote unless it was stuck together, slanted, and drawn as artistically as possible.

Giggling & kicking my feet 🤭🥹
If you aren’t watching 23.5 you NEED to start.
It’s soooooo cuteee and all the pairings are just swoon worthy 🥹💓.
If you’re a BL fan and never watched GL i think you should give it a go, at least up to episode 5 i’d say. There’s also a (spoiler!!!) surprise bl storyline woven in.
It gives off that MSP cutesy kinda feel but let’s just say the girlies are POSSESSIVE and it’s cute 🤭🤭
Also was NOT expecting all the angst, like they got me crying over my chicken salad 😭

2024.04.18 21:58 Boden0052 Straighten Handwriting in OneNote

Microsoft OneNote Introduces Handwriting Straightening Feature
Ready to make your OneNote handwriting look cleaner? The ability to straighten handwriting in OneNote just became a possibility. In its ongoing journey of enhancements and unification across platforms, Microsoft OneNote has unveiled a new feature aimed at enhancing the readability of handwritten notes. This latest addition allows users to straighten their ink handwriting effortlessly, enhancing organization and legibility.
The feature, currently being tested in the OneNote Beta Channel on Windows, enables users to select handwritten content within a note and utilize the Straighten button. Once activated, OneNote automatically adjusts line spacing and other elements of the handwriting to enhance readability, without converting the words into text through OCR.

The Handwriting Straightening feature in OneNote offers several benefits to users:

  1. Improved Readability: By adjusting line spacing and other elements of handwritten text, the feature enhances the overall readability of notes. This is particularly useful for users with messy or cramped handwriting, making their notes clearer and easier to understand.
  2. Enhanced Organization: Straightening handwritten text helps to visually organize notes, making them appear more coherent and structured. This can improve the overall organization of information within a note and facilitate better comprehension when reviewing or sharing notes with others.
  3. Preservation of Handwriting Style: Unlike converting handwriting into text through OCR, the Straighten feature maintains the original handwriting style and personality of the user. It simply cleans up the text to improve legibility without altering its unique characteristics.
  4. Efficient Note Cleanup: The ability to quickly straighten handwritten text provides users with a convenient way to clean up their notes before sharing or reviewing them. This can save time and effort, especially when dealing with large volumes of handwritten content.
  5. Facilitates Collaboration: Clear and legible notes are essential for effective collaboration, as they ensure that information is accurately conveyed to others. By improving the readability of handwritten text, the Straighten feature enhances communication and collaboration among users sharing notes within a team or group.
According to Microsoft, "Handwriting straightening transforms your handwritten inked text, making it more visually organized and coherent. It also improves ink legibility in your notes without taking away from your handwriting’s style and personality, and offers a great way to quickly clean up notes before reading them back or sharing them out."
However, it's worth noting that the feature currently has limitations. It does not support straightening individual words, tables, images, formulas, highlighter ink, or underlines. Moreover, it is tailored for languages with a Latin alphabet.
Despite these limitations, the Straighten feature presents a valuable tool for users looking to enhance the clarity of their handwritten notes, particularly when sharing them with others. Unfortunately, there is no confirmed timeline for when the feature will roll out to all users, but it is anticipated to be available in the near future.

2024.04.17 22:03 languagelover19 (Help) Opinions About a Study Plan to learn Russian?

Hi, I want your opinions about my study plan -I want to be Conversational (B1)-:
A) Learn the Basics: 1) Alphabet then Handwriting. 2) Michel Thomas Russian (Foundation, Advanced, and Vocabulary). 3) Routledge Colloquial Russian (1- 2), Routledge Modern Russian Grammar -as a grammar reference-
B) Next Step: (??)
of course, I'll try to watch Russian TV dramas -to get used to the language***-***,
My questions are:
  1. Can this "plan" lead to a CEFR level? like A1? A2? or B1 -my goal- ?
  2. When to add simple readers like: Начинаем читать по-русски! (A1), Шкатулочка (A1), Шкатулка (A2), and 116 текстов для чтения, изучения и развлечения?
  3. Does Nina Potapova's Elementary Course -old textbooks from 50s/60s, which is grammar-translation based- be useful to this plan?
  4. What do you recommend for "the Next Step"?
  5. What do you recommend to add/remove for this "study plan"?
Thanks a lot!...

Existential Dread (more in text body)
Sillies, I'm having such an existential crisis rn :c
Like, as usual, I feel like I want to be a cute soft little femboy. I want to be pretty and girly and cute. But, there's just that one little voice in the back of my head, asking "why?". Whenever I think about being a cutesy little girlyboy, I just can't shake off this thought of just "Why? Why would I want to do this? What reason is even behind this? This shit is worthless". And because of this, I cant even enjoy being a pretty little femboy anymore. And, like, giving up on it all is not the answer. I know that, deep down, I still want to be cute and girly, I just keep doubting the reson behind it. And, it just makes my wittle brain hurt.
Pwease help me, sillies 👉👈🥺

2024.04.17 04:36 Formal-eMail Working to rehabilitate my handwriting

Working to rehabilitate my handwriting
My cursive has become awful due to disuse over the last few years, so I am working to rehabilitate it. Haven't really set on a plan yet, going to read Sull's "The art of cursive penmanship : a personal handwriting program for adults" once I have it from the library. In the meantime, I have been writing alphabets, lines, and repeating problem words from the lines on french-ruled paper. The first several days were truly ugly.
Here is my practice so far this evening, and it is not embarassing - feeling like I'm progressing for legibility, even though my writing speed is very slow currently. Unhappy with my uppercase i's, and working to break some bad habits on lowercase t and d; an example of the bad habit escaped my pen in the first line where I name the ink "Amytheste de l'Oural"
Edit: straighten picture. My apologies for the curled edge of the sheet, and for not having the lines horizontal in the initial picture.

2024.04.17 01:26 Discord_Lover Balancing Practicing with and without Worksheets

How to balance practicing with and without worksheets? Every resource tells me do tracing exercises with school handwriting paper (or graph paper but idk how that helps.) However, you need to practice with more than just worksheets. I practice by copying letters off an zaner-bloser cursive alphabet sheet. My cursive is bad, but what should I do to improve it? As I have said before, I have workbooks…but am afraid to use up all the exercises.
